I love the tagline ”You owe it to yourself. Set the world on fire.” Isn’t she a stunning history maker? The bangs distracted me a little but overall, fiercest cover of the year (so far).

This is definitely not as high fashion as i-D’s but how rare is it for     them to not put a random white Hollywood celeb on the cover but a black model-host? Tyra deserves the cover, it is totally for her. (See the editorial of her styled as Michelle Obama here)

Jourdann Dunn in Prada

For this issue, all six models (Aggy, Amber, Natalia, Jourdan, Naomi, Oluchi) are styled as ‘hot nuns’ and  photographed by Sebastian Faena.

And, God knows what Miuccia might already be thinking seeing Jourdan in all these Prada. A campaign? An opening/closing slot?

Oluchi Onweagba. I still find it a little ridiculous that this 6ft1 Nigerian stunner wasn’t included in the VI all black issue (is it because of her Victoria Secret contract?)

I am hoping that this trend is not a five minute thing. The ultimate is for more black models to front ad campaigns.

    Jourdan is taking over the world in Prada. She definitely is the model of the season. Great great great, I am really surprised with this spread of a non-Caucasian model.

    Naomi looks oddly chiselled and somewhat photoshopped on the Vogue/Italia cover.Sessilee Lopez is my favourite.
    Tyra looks like a tacky showgirl and its true Jourdan is slowly taking over the world!

    Jourdan is gorgeous but I have the same concern as you have I hope is not a trend of having black models I hope black models could stay on runways stonger and better than ever

    This is what we saw back when tyra stepped on the scene. She booked at TON of shows during her first season. Now we’re seeing Jourdan take the magazines by storm. She’s fronting so many campaigns…its amazing. Vogue Italia definitely got the messgae across.

    i dont think it has anything to do with Vogue Italia really… that must have been booked months b4 the bookers were aware of the Vogue Italia black issue
    Nor is she the only black girl to be on i-D, Naomi has quite a few of their covers….more of a surprise would be to see a fresh black model on Vogue US cover

    As much as l love Naomi, I am in overdose of her too. I so love Jourdann like you. There is something so high fashion about her. I love her comments and quotes too, she is witty like Coco Rooka. It would be nice if she got the Prada campaign. I love that Jourdann and Channel are good friends. Which is much better than the Naomi & Tyra beef of 15 years ago.

    Oluchi is married to designer of Luca Luca. I think his name is Luca Orlando. She had a baby about a year ago, I hope she is launching a comeback.

    I’m experiencing Naomi overload here too. Her YSL ad was so-so and some of her editorials lately were quite awful. However, she looked great (naked) in the latest issue of Vanity Fair (Sept 08/Carla Bruni Sarkozy on the cover) together with Linda, Cindy, Stephanie, Claudia and Christie.

    I for one am disturbed by the Black & White angle… Particularly the Pop covers. Why B&W, and not any Asians, Indians & which ever races? Seems too forcefull, bigoted even…?
