Three (male) asian models to watch out for

asian male models

I’ve previously written about three female asian models to watch out for back in March – it’s nice to see two of them have gone on to score Chanel campaign (very rare for asian models) and they’ve also both been to Singapore for the Chanel Cruise show in May!

Switch back to male models as the menswear show season for Spring 2014 just ended, here are three names that you should remember:

kim taehwan

Kim Taehwan

Taehwan, who’s South Korean, walked a few top shows during the Spring/Summer 2014 show season – Dries van Noten, Neil Barret and Kenzo. Not bad for a season debut and also is it just me or he looks a bit like a younger version of Phillip Huang?

simonas pham

Simonas Pham

Simonas is half Lithuanian and half Vietnamese, he’s putting his exotic genes (hello freckles and razor-sharp cheekbones) to good use on the runway with bookings at John Richmond in Milan and at London Collections: Men where he opened and closed a few shows.

hao yun xiang

Hao Yun Xiang

The currently hot Chinese model who walked for a string of major brands like Calvin Klein, Etro, Moschino, Giorgio Armani etc returned to the European runway this season with only an appearance at Issey Miyake and some other smaller shows. Maybe it’s his rising model-celebrity status in China that’s taking him away from runway to print (he’s in GQ China, BAZAAR Men and previously scored Dior Homme campaign with Daisuke Ueda)?
