Five faces to watch Spring/Summer 2012 show season

The Spring/Summer 2012 show season is around the corner, which faces are you watching out for? Let’s check out these five newcomers who have been scoring impressive campaigns and editorials during summer. It’s time to root for the next big thing…

Kelly Mittendorf

The Arizona high school honors student has just started modeling properly this year but guess what’s on her portfolio already? A Prada campaign shot by Steven Meisel, even though it’s a multi-girl campaign Kelly managed to nab solo shots thanks to her super sleek features (slitty eyes, strong jaw etc) that certainly look other-worldly and just so Meisel’s type. Signed with Marilyn New York, don’t be surprised if she turned up as an exclusive for let’s say, Calvin Klein.

Sui He

Last season an Asian model opened the Ralph Lauren show and her name wasn’t Tao Okamoto or Liu Wen, but it’s newbie Sui He from China who made heads turn with her striking entrance. A Ralph Lauren campaign soon followed and now you can see Sui He being positioned among other well known Chinese Models on this month’s Vogue China September/6th Anniversary issue right smack in the middle of the cover. If that doesn’t scream Next Big Thing then what does?

Juliane Grüner

The Danish stunner has a Balenciaga campaign and solo Vogue Italia cover under her belt, not a bad start for a newcomer. Her current position on ranking? No. 29. One thing that is freaking us out is her strong resemblance to Ymre Stiekema right down to the mole. Plus, like Ymre, she is also a Prada exclusive last season. However she is only 15 years old (born in 1996…), it’s getting disturbing how young models are these days, no?

Carole Remer

The German stunner has scored an impressive list of editorials post Fall/Winter 11/12 show season (she walked 27 shows). Looking more like a pro than newbie in front of the camera, she exudes confidence and poise like no other, no wonder she’s fast becoming a favorite with renown photographers (think Inez & Vinoodh who shot her for Ports campaign). She can be found in Vogue Germany, Vogue Nippon, Vogue China, Self Service, Harper’s Bazaar and the current H&M campaign.

One of the stars of the Cruise/Resort ’12 season, the Dominican newcomer walked for major names like Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Diane von Furstenberg. Marihenny is also known for looking a lot like a young Naomi Campbell too, definitely one to watch.
