Commercial models making their debut in the high-fashion circuit is not that uncommon these days. The latest to make her entry – South African Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel – has been killing it on the European runways this season, booking top shows like Dior, Viktor & Rolf, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana (they always champion curvy models no?) and Isabel Marant. The Vogue Italia cover shot by Steven Meisel that was unveiled just before fashion month started must have been a great boost for her cross-over.
