Parco next NEXT Nation Pride exhibition

To celebrate Singapore’s 45th Birthday, PARCO Marina Bay has hosted an event to showcase a collection of unique statement pieces by the PARCO next NEXT Fashion Designers. The creations will be exhibited at the Millenia Walk Great Hall from 30 July to 15 August.

If you were a designer, how would you interpret Singapore in a piece of garment? Here’s how the Parco designers do it:

Ready.Made (left) and Max Tan’s red hot number. Speaking of Max, he was recently invited to present at the Next & Cutting Edge fashion show in Amsterdam. He is the first Singaporean to show at Modefabriek, and the response from the buyers and press was on a positive note. See video here, and some images.

Collaborating on this project is Yann Follain of WY-TO architects who contributes the art installation, “A Singapore Skyline”. Check out the many paper boats that the poor interns folded!

40 over designers worldwide were shortlisted for the Modefabriek cutting-edge show segement.. only 8 lucky ones meet the cut and were carefully chosen by the organizer after a series of stringent portfolio reviews.

Max is the first Singaporean to show at Modefabriek!
