20 Must-See Photos of the First Neon Lights Festival
A real festival like never before.
Besides an impressive line-up that stretched across various genres of music, Neon Lights Festival has successfully shown us what an ideal hippie arts and music event in Singapore would look like. Maybe all they can add is an actual campsite but who needs that in tiny Singapore and also the monsoon season? The festival lucked out on the weather all the way until the last act when the showers came down hard on the people.
Highlights include the well curated art programme, which offered festival goers an alternative way to spend their time within the arena while waiting between acts – theatre, comedy, workshops, literary and performances by over local and international 140 artistes. In case you thought that these are fillers, some of them are actually pretty packed.
Festival headliner Damien Rice moved the crowd with his emotional solo performance on Sunday night, which ended on a high when he invited two audiences to down two bottles of red wine with him on stage. Talk about being Irish! He was also spotted at Zouk the next day, looking for the Wine Bar.
