Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2011 presentation at MOCA
The Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA) took a turn back into the Art Deco era where a backstage setting with classic Louis Vuitton suitcases open up to light bulb mirrors, wooden director’s chairs and studio spotlights, evoked a retrospective vibe, presenting Louis Vuitton Women’s Pre-Fall 2011 Collection.
With only one fashion show for every collection shown at Paris Fashion Week, the private presentation allowed us to take a closer look (and feel) at the collection instead of just admiring it from the runway. The pre-fall collection “pays homage to the women of the past who embraced the modern era”, with a touch gamine in their looks, or in luxe flapper dresses with sequins over pleats. Move aside, the Art Deco Diva has arrived.
With Art Deco Diva comes glamourous and playful accessories. Bags and clutches made of colour blocks of dyed leathers and Monogram canvas, match stingray and strass on glittering bracelets and pendant earrings with ostrich feathers, and cuffs and bangles in coloured resin of purple and orange.
Being one of the firsts to lay our hands on the latest addition to the Speedy family – Monogram Speedy Bandouliere, we could not get enough of the new adjustable and removable strap (in natural cowhide leather) which is perfect in terms of functionality and style for the modern women.
Louis Vuitton is located at Ion Orchard #01-23, Ngee Ann City #01-20/24, Raffles Hotel #01-16 and DFS Scotts Walk Level 3.
