The last time Loewe had a runway show was way back in Spring 08′,and since then every collection has been presented in showrooms upon appointment. I thought that the private presentations that Stuart Vevers preferred were really suitable for a luxury house, where editors can get up close with the details and the quality of the garments. And of course, you get to see the bags and shoes more clearly when they are in showroom state, but I do miss Loewe on the runway.
So I was surprised that they did a runway presentation this time. It is definitely not a normal show presentation. Check out the venue and the front row seats:
All the editors and buyers have a table, and even a glass of wine as they watched the show.
As for the clothes, the fabrics are really rich— lots of leather as per usual, fur, suede, knit, quilt and velvet. The overall look is very edgy (thanks to the overloaded amount of leather). I can’t say much about the clothes actually because like all luxury houses (Hermés, Bottega Veneta) the focus is more on how expensive the materials are and the varieties, not much about the design because it is always chic, simplistic elegance and very working-women. This is just about that.
