DKNY Spring/Summer 2012, New York

Timely isn’t it? True to DKNY‘s all New Yorker spirit, Donna Karan held the women’s show on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. The collection notes on the seats before the show explained it all, calling the beloved city, and everything that the people have been through as the inspiration.

I arrived at the show venue at some warehouse around Chelsea area right on time and got a front row seat, just three spots away from The Anna Dello Russo. On to the show – the collection seems to have been divided into four different sections – the basics which included a few totally desirable to-die-for must-have shirts, the bold red/blue poppy printed pieces, the floral prints (+ bikinis!), and lastly flowy maxi dresses in shades of white, black and pink. There is one tweed shirt which caught my attention too, imagine wearing chic summer-friendly tweed?
