Vogue in turmoil?

“What Angelina did was very uncool”

I thought the last few covers with Rachel and Reese were pretty good. I really enjoyed Olivier Theyskens’s appearance and feature for the November issue. The content of this issue should not be bad either but the cover tagline is more like a desperate call for readership, targeting audiences who are interested in gossip magazines. That is what everyone has been talking about ever since this cover popped up. But you know, whatever that links closest to Hollywood sells.

Last year’s holiday cover (by Annie Leibovitz) was better:

At CondeNast, the bad economy seemed to have catch up with them. Latest reports are in that CondeNet, home to style.com etc, are making huge layoffs today. Insiders have also reported that “during the meeting to announce the layoffs and scale backs atMen’s Vogue even Anna Wintour choked up.”

US vogue have been selling out for quite a while… but this is pretty desperate, i guess they really need to balance the books but the quote they’ve used makes it look like Us weekly or OK! magazine.

at least this cover is much better than the horrific reese witherspoon cover…

Jennifer Aniston needs to shut up about her failed marriage to Brad already. I mean, seriously…it has been over for so many years that I can’t even remember them together.

The cover is awful too. The Penelope Cruz cover is actually one of the nicer ones.
