November 2009 magazine covers
Rianne ten Haken continuing her marvelous comeback with a consecutive Vogue Italia cover, this time, solo. Steven Meisel loves red heads, no? I smell a Spring ’10 campaign in the works.
See the main editorial here. It’s a little Steven Klein-ish but Rianne’s red hair is simply attention catching. Great (dye) job!
Isabeli Fontana ph by David Sims. Interesting take on tribal chic, the font and colours are very unexpected for French Vogue.
See main editorial here.
Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson ph by Annie Leibovitz. Cover looks slightly over-photoshopped, especially the shadow and lighting.
This issue is mainly about being green and environmental friendly. As usual, Karlie Kloss is starring in most of the editorials.
Georgia May Jagger, english model, youngest daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, Lara Stone look-a-like.
Up for consideration for Burberry’s campaign?
Katrin Thorman, finally a German Vogue cover for the German, rocking a softer look in Chanel sans her signature ice-queen stare. This is her second solo Vogue cover, Meisel shot her only-girl for Vogue Italia December ’08.
Daria Werbowy ph by Terry Richardson.
Chinese actress Zhou Xun ph by Norman Jean Roy.
Tao Okamoto ph by Inez & Vinoodh. This issue is all about Tao, their first Japanese cover model in 6 years. It’s still too early for an up-and-coming model to have a tribute issue (only the likes of Liya, Natasha and Lara gets that VIP treatment at a Vogue magazine) but it’s still a great moment for Tao. See the editorial highlights here.
Targeting the females, Lee Byung and Josh Hartnett for Vogue (not Homme).
Katrina Kaif in Chanel couture Fall ’09
Flavia de Oliveria
Toni Garrn ph by Greg Kadel. It’s a reprint, Toni’s apparently wearing a look from Louis Vuitton Fall ’08. Don’t you think the cover screams beauty ad to you?
Toni’s the other Numéro cover of the month… very lackluster shot though.
Caroline Trentini, looking tougher for once with the bangs and strong brows.
Linda Evangelista ph by Pierpaolo Ferreri for the annual Art Issue. Check out Linda’s spread here, it mixes both political and religious elements in one editorial, probably one of W’s best issues of this year alone.
Dazed & Confused
Lily Cole, now a model-turn-actress making a major acting debut in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”.
