March 2009 magazine covers
Kinga Rajzak and Hanne Gaby Odiele making their Vogue debuts together. This cover feels very Vogue Italia circa 06′, 07′, and a huge upgrade from last month’s Pixie Geldolf cover.
Iris Strubegger by Mert Marcus. This entire issue is paying homage to Coco Chanel.
Michelle Obama in Jason Wu. She’s only the second First Lady to appear on the Vogue cover.
Something about the arms seems overly airbrushed but it’s still a great cover overall— the pose, the lighting and the colours.
All British cover: Lily Donaldson in Alexander McQueen shot by Nick Knight.
Content-wise, this is a really strong issue— Daria, Anja Rubik, and with Tim Walker and Nick Knight at hem for the editorials.
She might be known for having no expressions and being completely bland but this is definitely a lot more times better than her Numéro #100 cover. Her eyes looks really piercing, haunting here.
The Rayder sisters are making a comeback… Last month was Frankie and now Missy Rayder.
The unstoppable Natasha Poly, on her fifth Vogue Russia cover.
Anna Selezneva. How her career exploded in such a short period of time is amazing. It’s only been a year plus and she’s got Vogue Paris, Russia, Italia and now Japan cover under her belt. What’s next?
Freja Beha Erichsen.
Really fresh, spring-y cover.
Reprint of US Vogue Jan 09′, Anne Hathaway by Mario Testino.
Not a very good angle of her face but perfect choice of cover star.
Rainie Yang. Taiwanese idol/singer.
Abbey Lee Kershaw.
She’s been missing this Fall 09′ show season due to knee injury.
Agyness Deyn made a surprise exclusive appearance at São Paulo fashion week around a month ago, and probably shot this cover when she was there.
Stunnin cover, Gisele looks different (in a good way), this could have been a better #100 even though it’s black and white studio shot.
Numéro Tokyo #24
That pout, umm.
The Best of British.
Cover stars: Jourdan Dunn, Kate Moss, Susie Bick, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Eliza Cummings, Alice Dellal, Daisy Lowe, Twiggy, Yasmin Le Bon, Lily Donaldson, Agyness Deyn
(See non-gif individual covers here )
Karen Elson, Erin O’Connor should have been on this cover… but I am just glad that they included Twiggy.
Another amazing, transforming celeb cover. They have been on a roll lately.
46 page editorial of Madonna by Steven Klein. It’s very lacklustre.
Natalia Vodianova and Luke Grimes.
The hair probably has a story by itself.
