Disco flash, fake snow…

I like Vogue Russia, the editorials, covers and content have been on the way up (I love Tom Munro’s work) and it is fast becoming one of the most talk-about Vogues in the scene with Aliona Doletskaya, the sassy editor-in-chief constantly in the fashion tabloids and such. But for the recent issues, I noticed something very lacking in Matt Irwin’s editorials.

Maybe they are just a little off side compared to the others, in the same issue.

i cant say that im overwhelmed with this editorial. maybe even a different choice of models… i dont know. its not working for me. but vogue rusia is a must have. vogue italia then rusia and paris together.

The editorial looks like classic Russian Vogue to me — lots of contrasting colors and garish sparkles.

That’s what makes it so different from all the other international Vogue titles.

In fact, rather than “lacking”, I thought Matt Irwin added to much props into this shoot? Usually he’s just models, outfit, plain backdrop. But this, tacky backdrop, and ultra fake props are making the shoot simply… cheesy.

lacking as in lacking in taste i mean. for vogue standards, i think it’s a little tacky. but the rest of the editorials, the one with Toni, is really really good.

If that’s the case, I agree totally laila. Lack of taste!!

Oh yes, saw the toni ed at tfs, very good!

Anyway, long time no see you online ;p

It’s two different stories, the Jourdan ed is in the January issue (great to see her too, I think she looks good despite all the over-done-ness) and the Masha N ed is in the Dec issue 🙂
