Here’s something for the weekend! There’re a few people who asked for the recipe when they saW the milo cake on @RockTheTrend Instagram a while ago so that must be a sign that the recipe needs to be shared! How to make a Milo Cake.

As this is a really unique dessert, it requires a bit of experimentation with different ingredients and make something that’s not usually available outside. For this case is a simple milo cake. If you’re Singaporean you are probably very very familiar with Milo, a chocolate-y drink popular with almost everyone.

To make the cake you first need the following ingredients:
– 125g butter
– 1 cup self-raising flour
– 1/3 cup Milo powder (from the tin not the packets of 3-in-1 mix)
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 small carton of Milo 125ml
– 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
– Optional: coco pops

Method: first preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Melt the butter, beat the two eggs and mix the dry ingredients (flour and milo powder) together.

Add the sugar and the beaten eggs, Milo 125ml, vanilla essence and melted butter to the bowl of dry mixture. Stir to combine well with a mixer for about 3 minutes. The batter is supposed to come out water-y.

Grease the tray and pour the mixture in till its full to get a nice muffin top.

Put it into oven and bake for 40 minutes.
