The Oscars 2012 – Top Three Best Dressed
This year’s Oscars red carpet looks are a little boring. If you want to say “headline-making” – Marion Cotillard in Jean Paul Gaultier and Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga are a few good examples. For this year, my pick for Best Dressed goes to:
Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford
She removed the cape on stage but with the cape on she looks regal, elegant and classy, almost god-like. She almost made up for the absence of Tilda Swinton (my all-time red carpet fave)
Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
Jessica didn’t stand out from previous red-carpet outings, for season reason she always seemed ‘washed-out’ by barely-there makeup and pale colored gowns. McQueen looks truly magnificent on red heads (say Florence Welch and Emma Stone) and Jessica totally pops out on the red carpet in this gorgeous gold and black number.
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
Who would have expected Louis Vuitton to be at the Oscars? The color and the multi-tiered chiffon gown looks amazing on Michelle, who is probably dressed by stylist Kate Young.
Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab Fall 2009 couture is stunning too.
Overall, celebrities look best when their gown suits their look their personality or even better bring out their personalities. Tom Ford is SO made for Gwyneth, and Jessica fits McQueen like a glove, no?
