Olivier Theyskens makes comeback with collection for Theory

Written By on Sep 15th, 2010

Tom Ford’s return to fashion might be stealing all the headlines at New York Fashion Week, but it’s time to shift the spotlight on Olivier Theyskens’s debut for Theory, a presentation held at the rooftop of the store’s meatpacking district headquarters. The collection showcased Theyskens’s ability to go commercial, by mixing his own aesthetics with Theory’s urban wardrobe philosophy. Prices for the 80 piece range are around 30 to 40 percent higher than Theory’s main collection. A leather jacket costs below $1000 while a black washed silk dress goes around $500 to $550. The prices are considerably affordable given the usual Theyskens fare which can go up to a whooping $5000 for a gown.
