New label to watch – A.K.A Wayward
For those who are constantly looking for cutting-edge, quirky menswear pieces in local stores, you might just have found your newest shopping must-have in A.K.A Wayward, an up-and-coming menswear label designed by Mun Foong, who worked previously in advertising agencies like Ogilvy and other design houses.
A.K.A Wayward produces statement pieces that capture a sense of humour by urbanizing classics with a modern fit and twist. Mun Foong describes A.K.A Wayard as “your prodigal son that returns. It’s the story of a rebellious son who left his father’s house to roam the earth in search of that proverbial ‘IT.’ He simply could not be molded within the norms of society in general. He’s a master of adventure and disguise, constantly ‘masquerading’ as someone else in order to fit in.”
The prices range from $95 for a shirt to $415 for a blazer, the line will be available come April at PARCO Marina Bay Level 2.
We have pictures of the pieces on male models during the recent Parco next NEXT Phenomena fashion show, in which A.K.A Wayward was selected by Keith Png, Frederick Lee and Fong Fan as the Designer of the Year:
