Marco Zanini couture debut for Schiaparelli
The Schiaparelli reboot has been a long time coming and finally the brand presented its first official couture show under their new creative director Marco Zanini. The brand first gained publicity via the MET exhibit “Schiaparelli & Prada: Impossible Conversations” signalling a comeback followed by a low key couture collection from Christian Lacroix last season. Marco Zanini, who was momentous in rebooting French house Rochas after Olivier Theyskens’s reign is now tasked at reviving another fashion brand. (Alessandro Dell’Acqua then took over Rochas after Zanini’s departure.) Except that this time it is a legendary brand. Founded by Elsa Schiaparelli in the late 20s, the fashion house has been defunct since 1954. The comeback is happening 60 years after its closure to much anticipation from the fashion world. Thinking about that, there aren’t many defunct fashion houses to be revived now that Schiaparelli and Mugler are all back and running.
Don’t you like the cast of the show and also the fact that each individual model has their own look for hair and makeup? Schiaparelli may be the new show to look forward to in future couture fashion weeks.
