Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011

Marc is always bringing something different to the table – one of the reasons why his show remains the most talk-about in town season after season. While the best words to describe New York Fashion Week so far is White Out, Marc looked over to the sultry side for Spring and drew inspiration from the sensuality of Yves Saint Laurent and a strong 70′s reference with Bianca Jagger and Jodie Foster from Taxi Driver in mind. Models were wearing orchids as necklace and hairpiece, some donning straw hats. The collection – mainly in palettes of violet, fuschia, crimson and mustard- included knitwear in the style of Missoni, printed jackets and satin dresses that look Vogue cover-worthy.
