CLOSE UP: Givenchy Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2011

One of the dresses in Riccardo Tisci’s latest work for Givenchy Haute Couture took 4,000 hours to make – that is more than 166 days or around half a year. Riccardo presented the collection, which is inspired by Japanese Butoh dancer Kazuo Ohno, in an intimate presentation on an entirely Asian cast. The group shot is simply unforgettable, striking and looks absolutely regal with the setting. Now zoom in and look at the bead work, all the pleating, details and the blood and sweat that the seamstresses had put in.
