Have you seen a campaign image and you get a sense of Deja Vu? So everyone is talking about the new Balmain Spring/Summer 2014 campaign featuring Rihanna who made creative director Olivier Rousteing‘s “vision feels complete”. Rihanna is great but besides her and the clothes everything from the background to the photography is eerily similar to the Balenciaga Fall 2011 campaign shot by Steven Meisel (left) which was shot in a studio built to resemble “a futuristic world”. There were people saying that background looks like a bathroom too. According to Susie Bubble they are all under the influence of French artist Jean Pierre Raynaud, who is most famous for his La Maison in La Celle-Saint-Cloud in Paris which is a house of grids.

Somewhere in the world Steven Meisel is giving a slow clap.
