French Revue de Modes #16

I’m loving the colours. FRdM’s covers are a major selling point, always filled with interesting casting choices which mostly involved semi-established models that people’s been rooting for, and also not forgetting, the striking photography by Thierry.
12 girls, 12 covers, the question is, which one to pick?

Josefin Hedstrom, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Chanel Iman, Coco Rocha, Tao Okamoto, Ranya Mordanova, Emily DiDonato, Yulia Vasiltsova, Hannah Holman, Laura Blokhina, Anna de Rijk and Lyndsey Scott ph by Thierry le Goues.

March 2010 magazine covers

Vogue Italia

Freja finally landed her first Vogue Italia cover while working a lot with Steven Meisel recently after a long dry spell. She first appeared in the huge runway editorial in the January main story, then a single shot in an editorial from Vogue US March ‘10, and slowly mounting to this major cover for VI. The lip liner might be a bit distracting, but if it sets people’s tongues wagging then that’s publicity isn’t it? Plus it’s great to see the more feminine side of Freja, that proves her versatility.

Vogue Paris

Rose Cordero ph by Mert & Marcus. This marks her first ever Vogue cover (check out the main editorial here) and also, the first Vogue Paris cover to feature a solo black model since Liya Kebede in 2002. Rose has been booking a lot of good shows this season (she did Prada Fall ‘10), thanks to the timely unveiling of the cover.

Vogue US

Tina Fey in Prada, ph by Mario Testino.

Vogue UK

Alexa Chung ph by Alasdair McLellan, time to put one of UK’s most sought after rising style icon in the cover spotlight.

Vogue Germany

Frida Gustavsson on her first Vogue cover. It’s a pity that her face can’t be seen clearly, but you can easily recognize her by the mole on her cheek. The cover looks very chic and a little bit vintage-y, simply eye-catching.

Vogue España

Anja Rubik ph by Patrick Demarchelier

Vogue Russia

Abbey Lee ph by Josh Olins. After two va-va-voom covers from Vogue Russia (Poly, Magda), they turned to the sweeter side of things with pink fonts and florals.

Vogue China

Du Juan, Anna Jagodzinska, Lily Donaldson, Constance Jablonski, Liu Wen and Karlie Kloss, all dressed in Chanel, ph by Patrick Demarchelier. The cover shares an uncanny resemblance with Vogue US’s May 2009 models cover.

Vogue Nippon

Isabeli Fontana ph by Inez & Vinoodh. The cover shot looks as if it came straight out of the Moschino Spring ‘10 campaign, also by the the same photographers.

Vogue Korea

Korean actress Kim Tae-hee by Oh Jung-seok

Vogue Taiwan

Vogue Australia

Abbey Lee ph by Max Doyle. The cover might not be exactly high fashion-y but it screams summer all over, and the colour combination is lovely. Abbey is also last year’s March issue’s cover model for Aussie Vogue, they sure love her.

Vogue Portugal

After Vogue Korea and Greece reprinted a shot from the ‘Jacket of all trades editorial from Vogue US Jan ‘10 for their February covers, Portugal is joining the bandwagon. A Vogue US editorial that turned triple-cover? Has this happened before?

Vogue Turkey

The very first edition of Vogue Turkey — Jessica Stam ph by Patrick Demarchelier. Conde Nast might have launched this to compete with Harper’s Bazaar Dubai in the Eurasian/middle east market.

Vogue Greece

10th anniversay issue, the covers are epic, and very Grecian.

Vogue Brasil

Barbara Berger

Numéro France

Edita Vilkeviciute, a total seductress in Dior, ph by Sølve Sundsbø.

Numéro Tokyo

Maryna Linchuk

W

Megan Fox ph by Craig McDean

W Korea

Celebrating 5th anniversary with Anja Rubik, Angela Lindvall and Karlie Kloss all in Louis Vuitton, each with a cover and an individual story.

Interview

Lara Stone ph by Mert & Marcus. More talks about her body in the issue.

Dazed & Confused

Australian actress and title lead in Alice in the Wonderland —Mia Wasikowska ph by Laurence Passera. While her Teen Vogue cover is cuter, this screams fantasy with the blue hair.

Snakes are appearing in several recent editorial, campaign and now a cover, because everybody loves a bit of danger, or is there something just plain sexy to pose with a reptile?

February 2010 magazine covers

posted on February 8th, 2010 · by Laila Lu · comments (1)

Vogue Italia

Jamie Bochert, Daphne Guinness and Agyness Deyn, ph by Steven Meisel. Jamie is scoring her second Vogue Italia cover, Daphne is making a debut (if you don’t count her couture supplement cover shot by Steven Klein for Sept ‘08) while Agyness is a surprise inclusion in the trio. It’s been a while since we last saw Agy on any cover, no? It is a weird mixture, all of them are very different from each other but then again, that’s the point of the issue — ‘INDIVIDUALS’, how they rock those tie-dye Blumarine pieces in their own style.

Vogue Paris

Daria Werbowy in Prada, ph by Inez & Vinoodh. Daria must be Team Vogue Paris’s favourite cover girl, she gets to front the cover around every half a year— August ‘08, May ‘09, August 09′ and now February ‘10. The cover shot seems to be taken from part of the editorial shot in Morocco, it’s a gorgeous shot anyway. Check out the rest of the mega new collections editorial previously posted here.

Vogue US

Jessica Biel in Ralph Lauren, ph by Mario Testino.

Vogue UK

Natalia Vodianova ph by Nick Knight.

Vogue Germany

Eva Mendes

Vogue España

Kylie Minogue

Vogue Russia

Magdalena Frackowiak, on her second Vogue Russia cover, ph by Tom Munro. This issue is about USA.

Vogue China

Shu Pei and Mirte Maas, both in Gucci, ph by Patrick Demarchelier.

Vogue Nippon

Abbey Lee Kershaw ph by Inez & Vinoodh. Finally, a piece from Celine by Phoebe Philo gets featured on a Vogue cover. Big time for Celine.

Vogue Korea

Kasia Struss ph by David Sims. Reprint from Vogue US Jan ‘10 editorial ‘Jacket of all trades’

Vogue India

Sarah Jessica Parker

Vogue Taiwan

Top chinese actress Li Bing Bing in Burberry.

Vogue Australia

Nicole Trunfio

Vogue Greece

Again— Kasia Struss by David Sims, Vogue US reprint. They must love that editorial.

Vogue Mexico

Lindsay Ellingson

Numéro France

Anna Selezneva in Lanvin, ph by Peter Lindberg. The cover is very much of Lindberg’s style of moody, black & white photography, and Anna’s posing and the lightness of the Lanvin jumpsuit make a great cover. See the full editorial by Lindberg here.

Numéro Tokyo

Caroline Trentini ph by David Vasiljevic

Numéro Korea

Hanne Gaby Odiele ph by Lina Scheynius. You hardly see huge handbags on covers, and there you go, a mega Louis Vuitton bag occupying cover space.

Dazed & Confused

Magdalena Frackowiak ph by Josh Olins. Love the contrast of the elegant headpiece, her pose and the bizarreness of Viktor & Rolf’s gown. See the entire editorial here.

Dazed & Confused Japan

Myf Shepherd ph by Yasunori Kikuma. Myf is said to be taking a break from modelling to focus on her studies.

W

Rihanna ph by Craig McDean. Besides Burberry, Gucci’s new Spring ‘10 pieces get featured on a lot of front cover too, editor’s new favourites.
