Vogue Italia

The Miranda Kerr high fashion cross-over invasion continues, this time a solo cover for the much coveted Vogue Italia September issue by Steven Meisel. Catching up on the 3D trend, Miranda and her puppy Frankie can be seen in three dimension format. (Remember the Dazed & Confused issue a year ago with Julia Hafstrom also in 3D? ).

Vogue Paris

Marion Cotillard by Mert & Marcus. And we wondered why Marion took such a long time to appear on the cover of Vogue Paris, seems like Carine has been saving her up for the most important issue of the year.

Vogue US

Rocking a bob hair, Halle Berry in Ralph Lauren photographed by Mario Testino.

Vogue UK

Nothing screams BRITISH VOGUE more than Kate Moss in a Burberry coat. Only Nick Knight is missing, this is shot by Patrick Demarchelier.
Editorial must-see — Jamie Bochert photographed by Hedi Slimane, what a perfect rock and roll pair up.

A retrospective: a decade of September Vogue issues

Bridget Hall (2000) and Linda Evangelista (2001) both photo by Steven Meisel

Invasion of the blondes: Kate Hudson (2002) by Herb Ritts and Nicole Kidman (2003) by Annie Leibovitz, that cover gets my vote for the best, most stunning in this decade– the entire cover shot is just perfect.

The supermodels cover (2004)– Daria, Natalia and Gisele on the main cover, photographed by Steven Meisel. Sarah Jessica Parker (2005) by Annie Leibovitz.

Kirsten Dunst channeling Marie Antoinette (2006) by Annie Leibovitz. Sienne Miller by Mario Testino (2007) the largest issue ever that is famous now for being translated to a movie.

Keira Knightley (2008) and Charlize Theron (2009) both by Mario Testino

Halle Berry, the latest September cover girl, by Mario Testino

The 2009 issue, at 584 pages, was a rare low for the bible, thanks to the economy. But think about this: for the past ten years, almost every single issue has gone past the 700 pages mark.

Vogue Italia

Kristen McMenamy in “survivor” version, where she interprets in images the environmental drama that’s afflicting the Gulf of Mexico. She is wearing a dress from Ralph Lauren Fall ‘10. This has to be one of the most intriguing Vogue Italia cover so far this year, and beats Kristen’s 2009 VI cover also shot by Meisel.

Vogue Paris

Freja Beha first solo cover for Vogue Paris, her last cover for VP dates way back in November 2005 (pre-hair cut) in a group shot by Mario Testino.
Check out the usual mega-size, mega cast 65 page new collections editorial photographed by David Sims here.

Carmen for Bazaar Singapore

posted on June 24th, 2010 · by Laila Lu · Add comments?

Out now: the editorial + interview featuring Carmen Kass (in Dsquared2) photographed by Gan, styled by Windy Aulia for Singapore Harper’s Bazaar during her stay here for Audi Fashion Festival in early May.

Carmen is truly one of the most unique models in the industry. She is not exactly interested in this whole game of fashion and partying, and stays in Germany (where her partner of five years, chess champion Eric Lobron, is from) and her home in Estonia instead of New York, Milan or Paris. She tries ‘not to hang around anything to do with fashion’ in her private time and claims to never wear high heels off-duty.
Pick up your copy of Bazaar for the full interview, in the mean while, check out a sneak peek of her newest campaign with long time client Michael Kors, shot by Mario Testino here.
