First look: Jamie Bochert for Lanvin

Lanvin Spring/Summer 2010, Jamie Bochert ph by Steven Meisel

Meisel photographed Jamie dashing down a New York studio corridor, in a bid to do something different from the usual motionless campaigns. The movement injects life into the garment, shows off the volume of the ruffles really well, and casting Jamie is interesting— just recently she chased a thief for 12 blocks in Brooklyn for her purse, and got it back. But until newer shots are unveiled, this campaign lacks that magic in older Lanvin campaigns, especially Olga Sherer’s, and Lily Donaldson’s, when the presence of the bags and shoes were not so literal (or better yet, not included in the campaigns at all) and the artistic direction was superb.

Weird ad; total departure from the past couple of seasons.
