The Shape Issue

US Vogue is changing, remember it’s only a year ago when we were greeted with that Gisele and Lebron James cover?

Now, The Shape Issue 2009 review:

‘The Deep End”
Daria Werbowy ph by Mert & Marcus

This is only the fourth time Mert & Marcus have ever shot for US Vogue, the last full editorial they did for them was way back in March 2004, so it’s been five years in the waiting.

“Fit to a T”
Natasha Poly ph by Patrick and Victor Demarchelier

Natasha’s second ever solo editorial for US Vogue (in their signature shock/dazed/excited expresssions) , and if I am not wrong, Victor’s first time working for Vogue.

Thank you for your review VOGUE’s Shape issue, I didn’t get the magazine in Bangkok, before the recession the magazine is on the newsstand more faster than this, it’s distribute by Bookazine in Thailand, anyway I love your blog, I know it from The Fashion Spot, I love your passion for fashion and fashion magazine, great job, hope you success in fashion arena.

  12. Mikel says:

This is not Natasha’s first only girl ed. She had an only girl ed in april 05.

    Thanks for all your scans.

  13. ryder says:

4 times? i guess they are faithful to vogue paris.

  14. anna says:

No offense, but Beyonce does not deserve to be on the Cover of VOGUE! She was just chosen so that they could possibly sell more copies.

  15. sam says:

yo. beyonce’s got style, talent, personality and heart. seriously, what more can you ask for in a cover subject? plus she’s got curves, not just sickly stick ’shape.’

mad for the daria ed. perhaps it’s because it
just ever so slightly reminiscent of this awesome Inez and Vinoodh ed:

  16. sophie says:

shape issue? apart from beyonce all the models used are TINY… they’re only representing one body type, the body type that most of us don’t have.

  17. Masquerade says:

OMG this issue is… great. Well, not really great, but acceptable at least. Anna hasn’t done something like this in a while, I’m so happy to se Vogue US recovering!
