You are looking at the perfect mixer of edge an elegance, the Rodarte sisters has churn out yet another stunning collection. I have said in my previous post that there are a lot of directions that up-and-coming designers can go, and Rodarte is keeping very true to themselves. I still remember their Spring 07′ collection with all the rose and ruffles, that blew my mind away. But ever since Spring 08′, they have been developing, not changing, their signature style. The results are that they have their very own identity and their own ground in fashion.
For this collection, the fabrics they used are a lot sleeker an darker. While Fall 08 was knits, this time it is mostly about leather, chains and their favourite chiffon. Leather for summer, who would have thought? To go along with the trends, they started the show with nude colours and it got darker, especially at the part where all the leather jackets and pants came, not really their style but it is definitely something kick-ass for summer. As usual the show ended with three breath-taking gowns which have a great blend of colours and fluidity. (images)
