NO offence, but what’s with the pose and that expression. This could have been done much better.

you’re right. this could have done better.
SASHA could have done it better.

i dont get the expression on linda’s face. the expression make her look older. i thought she will make the lace younger and hipper but she did otherwise.

    BRING SASHA BACK!!!

“NO offence, but what’s with the pose and that expression?”

Too much botox, photoshop i.e.? In other words plastic fantastic without a sign of life?
Its a nice attempt to bring older models back but please let them be a bit real showing some life and joy with the message that life goes on after 40?

  3. Michelle says:

I LOVE Linda…. not so much the ad though. However, I’m glad they got rid of Sasha… I totally don’t like her at ALL. I love the supers of the 90s….

  4. Christina says:

ohmygod. that prada ad looks SO FORCED. It’s terrible and awkward, and just downright UGLY!

  5. hannah says:

I think the age is a huge concern, Sasha would’ve given the lacw what it needed, youthfullness and fun, Linda, makes it look matronly, more so than sasha would have anyways, and the expression is painful.

  6. Tanya says:

yes, i agree bring Sasha back, she looks too much like a mannequin =/

  7. As much as I love Linda, I have to admit that is an AWFUL ad. She looks so stiff and frigid. They could have done soooo much better.

And yes, Linda has had way too many Botox. I saw her editorial for Italian Vogue, June 2008 and she had that same expression.

As for Sasha, I hate that crazy look on her face when she laughs like that. It looks like the Russian Vogue, May 2008 cover.

  8. Nana says:

@ Asian Model Blogger: Linda has exact the same expression in the L’Oréal ad-commercials. She’s frozen. Or a kind of a robot.
So I’ve to say these day I LOVED Linda back-then not like this.

Women who get older should embrace getting gracefully older. I’ve said this before. Stand up for themselves. Again. Its even more worse than in the past when women has no rights at all. Now women has to be young forever. They’ve lost in fact their freedom again. Yes, they can vote, have a career but they can’t get older anymore. The sad part is women are now already scared when they have passed 30! They fear that big three O………..Isn’t that a bit too early?

  9. sophie says:

well said, nana. i absolutely agree.

i hate the ad, linda looks like one of those creepy clowns. if they were going to get rid of sasha there are SO many other, better models to choose. linda just doesn’t suit this style of ad.

  10. Laila says:

maybe we should see the rest of the campaign first then judge, it’s just the pose in this pict that annoys me a little…

  11. aaron says:

linda AND meisel, and this is the best they can do? this is an affront to everything sasha has accomplished over the last six seasons.

  12. Kielo says:

I wonder if this is about trying to please everyone and ending up not pleasing anyone? Hollywood is often blamed for this, and with the new fashion markets the companies might feel pressure to be “safe” that is: bland and boring.

Balenciaga has been dreadfull for alot of seasons, and this might mean the same for Prada. I just hope they would produce at least 1 or 2 good images a season as well, for us who care.
