Liya Kebede. She was on the cover of Vogue Italia October 02′.

Sessilee Lopez. She is an african-american model who has walked for small shows and has done only a few editorials. This is going to make her career. (check out sessilee’s site)

Jourdnn Dunn. This Brit is probably my favourite black model at the moment. She is stunning on the runways.

I found this particular interesting comment:

Every black model in the history of time (and the new) got crammed into one issue.”

Go figure.

    You can fit all famous black models into one issue, yikes I didn’t know things were that bad.

    Ummm… The Liya cover looks good as does the Lopez one. Again I would say that it has a very retro/period fashion feel, not of the moment. Yasmin Warsame I like, but I sure hope they have put more voltage to the rest of the shots…

    Love Gail O’Neil. I look forward to seeing her in the Italian Vogue issue. She peaked in the mid-90s, along with Cindy Crawford, who incidentally was her best friend in the modeling industry.

    Seeing that only the cover with Liya’s photo has typography on it, it looks like that’s the REAL Italian Vogue cover and the other three models are folded underneath.

    So you can imagine why Naomi is having a bad day. She probably threw her cellphone at the Eastern European maid this morning when she saw the covers.

    yesterday i looked through the cover archives on the british vogue website, and there hasn’t been a black model on the cover since august 2002!! and the only black model they have EVER had is naomi, who has been on the cover 8 times. thats pretty appalling.

    Sessilee walked for small shows??? You call Armani, Jean Paul Gautier, Lagerfeld, L.A.M.B and Fendi small shows?
