i can’t tell if that was frankie in the roberto cavalli ads, the one in jessica beil bazaar. but, you don’t have her listed so, i guess not. but it sure looks like her profile. and then, in town and country, there was another brunette model, def. not frankie rayder. so i don’t know. is frankie back?

I actually went through the 02 & 03 Paris Vogues at my local public library (in search of Balenciaga campaigns forgotten) and I found:

– Alexander McQueen F/W 02 ad (October issue) that I described above, it has a warehouse set that feels inspired by the movie “The Cell” with Jennifer Lopez.
-S/S 03 AMQ ad (March issue, one page) that has a South American looking model standing on red coals on a starry night, wearing one of those bird of paradise dresses that he did again for this season.

Well, I think it was because Gucci had just bought the company and wanted to think thing over, and finally decided against ads, until now that is.

i didn’t see sasha’s name anywhere. hmmm.

i don’t think natasha is right for nina ricci either, the clothes are usually very soft and feminine and since natasha got really thin i don’t think she really conveys that image.

Glad to see Isabeli Fontana getting all the ads. Natasha looks really great in some photos but oddly alien in others.

What season did C.G. front Balenciaga ads previously? I don`t remember her there at all…

But I do remember Alexander McQueen having an ad campaign in the early 00`s. It was just one season, but looked really big budget: imaginative and dark, it was my favorite that season. (Haven`t saved any pages.) It had a red head model that did only like 2-3 seasons.

BTW: have you seen the old ads by Inez & Vinoodh that they did for Balenciaga? There are some real classics, and the designers they collaborated with (M/M) are selling posters of those seasons show invites on their site. 200€ apiece, I wouldn`t buy, but you should check them out if you haven`t seen them. Just Google M/M.

And I have loved what Toni Garrn has done with Mario S. (W & V), a shame she isn`t doing better!

Can`t wait for Lanvin & Jil Sander!
