MaryKate Olsen in Missoni and Marc Jacobs headband
It is one of those things that I see on the runway and know that it’s not going to make it to real life, but like the turbans from Prada SS07, somehow they found their fans. MaryKate Olsen is the first to wear it, as usual. She paired it with a vintage Missoni dress which I think complimented the headpiece pretty well but still, why would she want to wear that to an upscale event? On the other hand, Marc Jacobs’ Fall 08′ runway sort of highlighted the headbands as a key accessory…
All I can say is, unless you are a hippie, I think they are totally hard to pull off and unglamorous.

yea, i think i can’t decide if it is made for hippies or like those who are totally into the futuristic look. maybe it’d be a little more acceptable if it was less chunky?

Not that long ago there weren’t many people who could imagine they were ever going to wear tent-dresses or the high-waisted jeans/pants/skirts……..

Err, I don’t know about the headbands. It’s hard to get used to it.

Mary Kate looked like she’s overwhelmed by the dress. As for the Marc Jacob head band, the jury is still out on that.

I love the item as such, but wear it? I can`t think of anyone looking hot in it outside a stage act.
