Marc Jacobs is drawing headlines again and this time, it’s not about his personal problems. Apparently, he may not be showing his collection in New York again.
He was accused of holding up the audience for two hours for his scheduled 9pm show because ”he was drinking in his hotel with business partner Robert Duffy”.
He denied the accusation and declared that he’s having doubts whether he will show in New York next season.
“Robert and I discussed this today and we were like, you know what, we don’t want to show here anymore,” Jacobs told WWD. “I don’t really feel a part of the American fashion community. I really feel like an outsider, I think we all do, and we feel unloved here, so we want to go somewhere else.”
The situation is the same as it is in Milan, the fashion week schedule is continually being push forward, which gives pressure to designers with its impossible-to-meet deadlines.
Diane Von Furstenberg has since spoken to Jacobs to beg him to stay— “I wanted to tell him how important Marc Jacobs is in the American fashion industry. “
Can you believe this? What if we are really going to see Marc Jacobs next season in… Paris?
*gasp*

He’s creative and all but he’s still a whiny little spoilt bitch. There, I said it! I hate people who are late ALL THE TIME. He has no respect for other people’s time.
Regardless of whether he was drinking in his hotel or not, this is unacceptable. I’m surprised nobody walk out on the show altogether.

Yeah I agree. He thinks he’s too big for New York or something but he should not forget all the support he has gotten all these years from there.

You meanies!
He`s the only big thing in New York and he can be the bitchiest cunt in the world for all I care. If they let him go, then NY will become another London; not that much.
(In all honesty I haven`t liked him long. His stuff ages just so fast, it seems hardly worth the bother. But recently, GREAT!)

I think he would be great in London.

i think it’s rude to be two hours late, and unprofessional. creative people might shrug that off but what about the business people? the buyers and commercial people of the fashion industry? i’m not impressed, esp by someone now so large and experiened . if it was a little starter fashion designer, they wouldn’t be forgiven, but MJ’s bad behaviour is because he’s… MJ??

I think he is making a good decision because In NYC he always complains that they are treting him very bad so, why not changing? he lives in Paris so it´s normal
