Jean Paul Gaultier
I still can’t get over JPG’s Spring/Summer 07 couture show which has a religious inspiration… I was really anticipating this show.

I like JPG’s flamboyant and very stylish clothes. The amount of creativity he injects into each and every piece of design is really praise-worthy plus he can mix art with luxury with fashion so well. JPG’s the only one who can go really crazy and outrageous with his designs but never get punished for it. He’s also outspoken & daring in terms of presentation of his ideas. By the way, I love that coat on Lily Cole, I so want to get it!!!

He’s got inspirations from a wide range of sources— from left: a chinese cheongsam, indian sari and a hot policewoman!

Boots of crocodile skin, washed-out leather and navy blue velvet.

The shoes are adorable too, from metallic to leather to satin

The focus is on the shoulder details. The strong shoulders can make you look as smart as those military people.

These jackets are so beautiful. Wearing them over anything and you’ll definitely look like a million bucks. They remind me of some of his designs for Hermes’s FW0708 collection though.
Elie Saab
His designs are clearly targeting red-carpet loving celebrities as he doesn’t use as much artistic influence or drama. Glamour-wise, this collection is really great for dressing up and looking good at formal events. Resident Elie Saab fans like Beyonce & Halle Berry are sure going to love it.

I think these two gowns are really gorgeous, especially the one on the left. Huge puffy tiers are really hot right now and I can picture any celebrity wearing it on the red carpet!

Even though he’s not into art, details does matter when it comes to couture– it’s dripping diamonds & shimmery jewels everywhere with elegant flowers to top off the look.
Armani Prive
He included a lot of colours into his designs this time, that’s a major surprise but the style is still very Armani. Who knows that he can do neon colours so well? I think this collection’s going to appeal to a lot more customers as the looks have gone a little bit more youthful. They can mix into any one of the Emporio Armani collections and still not get spotted.

Last day of the couture showcase will see Valentino churning out his latest designs.
